Hi, Lauren, and other forumites. As a new member, I thought that I'd briefly introduce myself. I have been a Mathematics teacher, a cataloger for a library, and now I help operate a bookstore. I have traveled to most countries in Europe, Central America, and South America. My favorite countries were the Czech Republic, Norway, Switzerland, Costa Rica, and Argentina. I have lived in Missouri (St. Louis), Germany, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The longest I ever lived in one place was a 25-year period in Newport, Rhode Island (only a 7-minute walk to the beach). A few years ago, I had to return to Missouri in order to care for my ailing elderly mother. Part of my mother's treatment required physical therapy --- her physical therapist was a charming lady who had studied ballet as a teenager in Russia --- I had been a ballet enthusiast since age 17, so we started attending ballet and modern dance performances together.
